As we always wanted to work with Erasmus+ in a place where its hot and where we can go to the sea after work, we decided to go to a small island called Malta, and it was the best decision we could ever make!
In Malta we did our 4 weeks internship at the Maritime Museum of Heritage Malta. We started on 16th July after two days of getting to know the country and our city a bit. After some troubles on our first day, because we should have worked at the Hypogeum, but there were too many interns, we had a very warm welcome at the Maritime Museum. The Maritime Museum focuses on Maltese’s maritime history and its role in the second world war. Sadly, there wasn’t so much work to do for us, so we had to work as “securities” most of the time in the museum. Sometimes we helped at some events for children or did some support activities for various stuff members. Even if our duties were not the best, we had the best co-workers! Almost everyone we met in Malta was very friendly and polite and we had a great time with many different people, which also helped us to get to know the maltese culture better.
In the afternoon after work, we often went to the beach or to Valletta in the evening to eat dinner and explore the city. Valletta, the capital city of Malta, is a really cute and gorgeous city. From the place where we lived, Bormla, we usually took the ferry to go to Valletta and then the elevator, because the main part of the city is located on a hill. Valletta has many good places to eat an many cute shops. On the weekends we went to various places, such a St.Peter‘s Pool or the other islands of Malta, Comino and Gozo. Malta has many beautiful landscapes and very clear sea, which is why we spent a lot of time swimming and tanning in the sun. On weekend evenings we also went out a few times. There is a place called „Paceville“, where there are many young people our age and a lot of clubs and bars, the perfect place for everyone who likes music and parties.
All in all we can say that Malta was the best experience we ever had and we would recommend everyone to take place in the Erasmus+ program.
