After graduating, spending a little time away from home was something I always wanted to do. From the 15th of July to the 16th of August, I spent my summer working for the Flow Festival in Helsinki. I mainly worked on the marketing team and helped with preparations for the international press program. During the first few weeks, I spent most of my time getting to know the company, looking through photos for Instagram posts and making a posting schedule for the upcoming time. Right before the festival, I was able to take part in the international press program and attend a rooftop event as well as a fashion showroom tour through the lovely city. There, I met lots of journalists from the UK and I was able to have some interesting conversations with them. The actual festival days, the 9th to the 11th of August, were packed with last-minute preparations, but I was still able to experience Flow in its full glory and watch some performances I will never forget. After the festival, I helped with sorting pictures and preparing some posts that would go up after my departure.
Through my time with Flow, I was able to experience the city in a whole different way and got to know the culture and the way life works in the north of Europe.
Other than the festival, the highlights of my stay were the people I met. I will forever be grateful for the time I was able to spend with my lovely team each day and the conversations we had. I am sad to leave them and the city behind for now, but I am sure that I will come back sooner or later…
