… but we were so tired after a week therethat we slept all weekend back home

We arrived in London on a rainy Saturday, October 6th, tired, hungry and cold. But then we met our very friendly host-families and everything got better. 🙂
Next morning, we were woken up by sunshine and this made us hurry to get to the meeting point with our teachers Professor Fink and Professor Ederer-Hemmer for our day trip to Brighton.  There we walked along the beach, enjoyed the Pier and its amusements before we walked up to the Royal Pavilion and strolled through the lanes of Brighton.
On Monday our lessons started at 9.30 and we were a bit nervous, but soon we found out that we had nice teachers and we spent our mornings talking about many different topics.

In the afternoons we went on tours in the city of London. We explored the Tower of London, the Thames Walk, the London Dungeon, Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square in beautiful sunshine. We even saw the Queen driving out of Buckingham Palace in a black car with darkened windscreens. BUT we believe to have seen her. And that’s what counts.
We also got some free time for shopping and we couldn’t resist…. But we kept in mind that we shouldn’t go back with overweight and we luckily succeeded.
Another highlight of the week was the night, when we went to see the musical “Wicked”. It was simply great. And afterwards we went to Piccadilly Circus to look at the world-famous neon ads.
All in all, it was a fantastic week and we went home happily and our minds were full with new experiences and wonderful memories.
