I had the privilege of attending the course “Mindfulness and Meditation: Well-being at school and life”for one week in Iceland’s capital, Reykjavik. It was a unique experience for me, to spend a week with teachers from all over Europe. So, I was able to learn a lot about different school systems in other countries.
Our trainer introduced us the technique of Mindfulness and the practice of Meditation. We also had the opportunity to get to know different Yoga styles. During the whole week, the course focused on working in three main fields of action: self-awareness and emotions management, empathy and values in school relations and achievement motivation. The course focused as well in avoiding nowadays problems at school, such as school violence and bullying, lack of values, lack of motivation and assertiveness, inability to set goals, frustration and emotional distress.

The time in Iceland was a wonderful and enriching experience for me and I was able to learn a lot for my work at school and for myself and my everyday life. After the course I had the opportunity to travel the country and I absolutelyfell in love with Iceland’s amazing nature.
