We, Natalie Sammer and Leonie Schönauer, had the chance to go on an exciting Erasmus+ adventure in the charming city of Trieste. We were welcomed warmly by a friendly atmosphere, delicious food, sunshine, and the soothing sound of the sea. Our accommodation in the heart of Trieste, thanks to a very kind hostess, couldn’t have been better.
Our main workplace was the annual jazz festival „TriesteLovesJazz“, where both international and national jazz musicians performed. Our boss, Gabriele Centis, guided us warmly through the various festival venues, including the breathtaking Castello San Giusto high above Trieste’s rooftops and Piazza Verdi right in the city center.
Our tasks varied from setting up instruments to taking care of the artists. We handed out flyers, sold CDs after the concerts, and had inspiring conversations with artists and got to know them. These experiences gave us insights into the music and event industry and broadened our horizons.
In our free time, we explored Trieste’s rich culture. We visited the beautiful castle „Miramare“, parks, and various museums. Especially the history of Trieste really impressed us.

Furthermore we spent our free days at the seaside of Barcola. Trieste, known as the city of coffee, was the perfect place to experience coffee culture and enjoy an amazing coffee all day long.
Our time in Trieste not only improved our language skills but also provided insights into organizing festivals. We appreciated the opportunity to meet many people in this fascinating city.
Trieste is a city that you must experience. Our adventure will always stay in our memories, and we are thankful for the chance to complete our internship there. The encounters and experiences in this vibrant city were unique and will remain with us for a lifetime.
